Unknown Secrets of Mocrosoft Windows XP

Did you know that double clicking on Program icon closes that particular window. Just open any application, notepad or anything you wish, because all applications contain a program icon at top left corner. Just place a single click, you will see a menu containing these items : Restore ; Move; Size; Minimize; Maximize; and Close. But ever wondered, what if you double click it? Try it. You find that the application terminates.

Well, almost everyone using Windows has a habit of keep on refreshing the window. Well, if I don't have anything to do on my computer, that's what I keep on doing, unconsciously. So just made a wild guess for everyone. So, coming to point. After we apply right click, we get the context menu containing many items such as refresh, new, etc. After that we click left mouse button on one of the item to do that particular task. But did you know that the same task can be done by clicking the right button of mouse instead of left.

Did you know that double clicking on the title bar of any application, it maximizes if it was restored down (minimized to smaller window) and vice versa.

Everyone would have noticed this. Whenever you try to copy a file or folder to some place, and if a file or folder is already present there with the same name as that of the item being copied, you will get a window asking confirmation regarding copying. And the option given to you to choose from are:
Yes:- if you confirm replacing that file or folder
Yes to all :- If you confirm replace all files folders with same name.
No:- If you don't want to replace.
Cancel:- If you want to cancel the process.
But what a weird thing, we don't have option ' No to All '. Well guess what, its there. Just hold ' Shift ' and click ' No '. This equivalent to selecting ' No To All '.

Even this you must have noticed that when we drag and drop an item to a folder placed on the same page as that of item, the item gets moved instead of copying. Well try this hold ' CTRL ' and then drag and drop. This will the process of copying instead of moving.

If the same above process is done holding ' Alt ' instead of ' Ctrl ', a shortcut of file is created.

While dragging and dropping a file from one drive to another drive, the file gets copied and not moved. Try holding ' Shift ' and perform the same process to move the object instead of copying it.

You can speed up the starting time of your pc. All you have to do is stop few unwanted applications when the system starts. Click on start and run ' Eun ' program. type msconfig and press OK. You will get 'System Configuration Utility' Window. In that go to start up tab and uncheck all those programs, which you dont want to start during system restart. This speeds up the restart process by a bit.

While double clicking on folder to open it, press and hold 'Ctrl' to open it in a new window.

You can create a nameless folder and hide it without actually hiding it. Well try this create new folder and rename it. While renaming press and hold 'Alt' and in num pad type '0160'. That's it. you have your nameless folder. Actually its not nameless. It has a name that is ' ', well its nothing but a space. Now to hide, just right click and go to properties. Got to customize folder option and change the icon of the folder to blank space. There's your folder is now hidden without actually hiding it.
